Battling is almost a necessity in the Pokemon world; it helps Pokemon grow stronger, and makes it easier for people to meet without having much of that awkwardness when first meeting people. However, there are a few rules and much needed information when it comes to such things. This thread helps you learn what you should know about battling!BATTLE RULES & INFO !
1.) MOVES & ROUNDS;; as per the games, battles can have unlimited rounds; however, if a battle is going on a tad bit too long (depending on how many Pokemon are being used, when it comes to trainer vs trainer) mods might sneak into a character battle to help wrap things up. Moves, however, are a different story. Each person has a choice of four things when in a battle; they can either attack with a move, use an item, or switch a Pokemon out. Everyone is allowed up to two of these at once per post or round, and can almost mix and match these things -- however, at least one move must be used per turn, and Pokemon are only allowed to dodge an attack two times per battle. Any time after will automatically result in a hit.
2.) CALCULATING DAMAGE ;; As most damage calculating can be rather time consuming and most damage calculators need stats that we don't use on here, health and whether or not a Pokemon faints during a battle will generally rely on level, type advantage/disadvantage and members and staff overall; though staff can and will have the final say in what happens during a battle.*Staff will generally allow member vs member battles to rely on members when it comes to such things, however staff may intervene if a battle is taking too long between Pokemon or there was an unfair call.3. ) LEVELING UP ;; For a leveling up guide, as well as how and when Pokemon evolve, check here. When it comes to leveling up, Pokemon earn this through battle, as well as doing various tasks roleplay wise. Through battling, Pokemon earn experience.
4.) BATTLING STYLES ;; Much like the world of Pokemon, Keep Moving On has plenty of battle styles to fit each trainers needs. As of currently, we accept:
- Single Battles
- Double Battles
- Triple Battles
- Sky Battles
