The escape rope sounded useful for those emergency problems that may arise in caves, always better to be safe than sorry really, that was good enough for him to understand just what they did. That lone question signaled the end of his stay in the lab, the rest of his questions would be better answered by just getting out there and dealing with stuff, though the option to phone Elm was quite good to have just in case something happened, such as pokedex completion and such.

The air still being a chilly as he let out the Chickorita, which he would call Jade, said green plant looking to Andy a bit quizzically, "Hello there Jade, I'm Andy." he introduced himself, his voice being purposefully soft to the plant, no use scaring it off when it barely knew him, this being followed by a pet to its head which gets a little shiver out of it, something that Andy didn't quite expect. "Maybe she is a bit timid to new trainers?" he thought, looking to the Chickorita again who didn't stay too close to him. Andy took this with a grain of salt for now as she just met him only seconds ago...Another part of him was a bit relieved that he wasn't alone in having a case of nerves to something, he had a case of nerves around people, Jade seemed to have the same problem, "Maybe we could get over our nervousness together? What do you think?" Jade let out a little 'chick' noise in acknowledgment whether that noise was one of affirmation or disdain was debatable to him.
Taking out his map and looking over the region, the first stop from New Bark Town would be Cherrygrove city, "Sounds as good as any for my first destination." he looked to get back to Mahogany Town to show his parents the pokemon he had by the time he made it back from all the towns in between, for now though the new pair began trekking through route 39, Andy makes sure to look around and take in the scenery going nice and slow for now so they both are able to witness all they could.
